He died yesterday of a heart attack. He was fifty.
"Strummer's family have asked that instead of floral tributes, money is paid to the Mandela SOS fundraising concert, which is aimed at raising awareness of the AIDS epidemic in Africa."

I forgot to post this here.. posted it all over the place though.
So sad... he was a wonderful man. I had the wonderful priviledge to meet him earlier this year, and a very small private gig with The Mescalaro's. Even though there were many others waiting to also meet him, he took the time to speak to me, and show me some photos he had with him of his time with the Clash... He seemed a genuinly nice guy.
My thoughts are with his family.. his children wer eonly young...
And I drove past the Hammersmith Palais today, and raised a smile in his memory :o)

I cut my only plaid pants (yellow and black, tres cool with Doc Martins) into shorts about six years ago, and they are no longer fun.
I came here for a special offer.
A guaranteed personality.

P.S. And to top it off, my husband wants me to go with him in my daughter to see Santa at a-a-gasp-a-MALL. EEK! On the day before Christmas! (I did all my shopping through Flax, Amazon, and J.Jill online, and Costco and Target down the road. I haven't been to a mall in about six months.
P.P.S. Maybe I'll wear those shorts!
This is the end of the thread.
