They make me want to do anything BUT smile...
I don't mind funny things as long as the person whose sent them has taken my sense of humor into consideration and hasn't just put me on a list with a million other people..

Some people I can just email and tell them this is my work email and I can not get stuff like this... but others, like my family and friends, know that I can recieve it and send alot of funny stuff also!
I guess laugh, or smile, or fake smile it off. They think they know what is right for you, and no one knows that about anyone!

Yeah, it's no big deal, as she doesn't send me that many, and she does send me some funny stuff sometimes, but it's just that those - THOSE - are sooooo annoying!
SMILE!!!!

Yes, the once in a while clever bit that the friend knows I would like--I don't mind those.
I told my brother a long time ago to not send me joke forwards, etc. Then, I hadn't gotten any in a while, but now I get them from a cousin. I don't want to insult her. Sometimes I do read some of them, but sometimes there are so many, I just delete them.
But I haven't gotten anything quite so animated as the smiley message you got.

I get those around-the-world fwds sometimes. I wish it were harder to forward email, especially to more than one person. sigh. Now that I don't get that horrible porn or Viagra spam (new ISP!), the forwards have taken over as the main annoyance.
I should just delete them, but I feel compelled to look at them. Silly, silly me.

What purpose do those things serve? If you're already happy, maybe it'll give you a grin, but if you're upset, it's just rubbing salt in the wound.
Everyone in the office had to ask me why they heard 4 seconds of blaring "Rockin Robin" from my office, too. (answer: I couldn't close the window in 1 second).
