Actully, the '89 Loma Prieta quake 15 miles away was real dangerous feeling compared to this one 165 miles to the South in "Paso" and San Simeon (Hearst's Castle) area. If they were riding dune buggies at Pismo Beach 11 miles away from the epicenter, they wouldn't notice any difference. My Dad lives in an 11 story apartment building in Fresno, 120 miles N.E. of "Paso", and he said it reminded him of being on a ship at sea.
