Hi,
Just wanted to tell you how well my first session at the anxiety clinic went. I was pretty simple really. Had to give a shrink my anxiety history, which I'd never really done before. It was interesting the way it has been mapped out before my eyes. they are going to take a couple of more sessions to assess me, but so far she feels I have panic disorder, performance anxiety, and a form of social anxiety disorder related to my job. We have a couple more consultations before I get down and dirty with psychologists. But I feel really positive. Today I have a speech therapy session as well. It's all starting to look up. Have a great week by the way.
I wanted to know how you were doing lately. I hope your spirits are up too. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I'm very pleased to hear this. sounds like they know their stuff-and sounds like you're definately on the right track here. I'm curious about how your SLP appt. will go. definately post how it goes.
about the same here, could be better. I've decided my hubby just needs more time with this, he just refuses to talk about it-he's convinced there is nothing wrong. I need him now more than ever... but i do Thank God that i have this board. if i couldn't come here and vent or read about others i just don't know what i'd do.
Had bad night last night-couldn't get to sleep, insomnia is back, i guess that means i'm getting used to the meds. I have an appt. with pdoc next week so i'll see if he can Rx a sleepaid. I was using sonota but i think i got use to them it took longer and longer to get to sleep as i was using it.
Thanks for asking.
B2c.

hi,

Am saddened to hear that hubby isn't coming around yet. but you know, he will. What I did with my hubby was give him pamplets, and stuff for him to read about so he knew just how common my affliction was, and he didn't feel like I was a freak. Just knowing there are brochures out there on the topic is helpful......somehow.

As for my speech therapy today. Very interesting. Towards the end, after asking me to read a text into a microphone and asking me a zillion questions, I could tell she had concerns. So I asked her to lay them on the line. she wants to contact my doc and set up an appointment with a neurologist. she wants to rule out Myesthemia gravis...whatever the hell that is. Anyway, I'm about to do some research online to find out what it is...but she says she wants an expert opinions, obviously. but she says whatever it is, she can help. And she's seen this type of performance anxiety as well, which is helpfull.

gotta go...have some surfing to do. have an awesome weekend.
