hospitalization experience.

Posted by B2chica on March 26, 2004, at 18:20:47

what an experience. anyone who read my poems on the 10th knows i was in a very dark place...it only got worse. i ended up hysterically calling my pdoc (luckily) and he wanted me to go to the ER immediately. i wasn't sure so i called a friend and he agreed and offered to drive me. i was stuck in there for two weeks with mostly 1-to-1 time! had three major depressive episodes and one worst hypomanic episode. at one point i attempted to slit my wrists. luckily i'm an idiot and missed the vein in three different places and a nurse came in and caught me. luckily.
i am now on outpatient basis, just got sutures out and all bandaged up. but i probably won't post again for a week (psychogirl).
an experience i'll never forget. but i believe everything happens for a reason.

believe it or not a general hospital, not fancy at all. they only give you 1-to-1 if they think your going to "harm yourself" well, i just got off day 1-to-1, and did it that night. i found a sharp piece of metal that i snuck into my room and waited till night (about 11:00) then started. usually the lazy nurses just shine flashlights into the room but that night they came in- then i was immediately put back on 1-to-1 "overnight", meaning 24/7, that sucked! i'm just glad to pee without anyone watching now. :)
