Hi everyone, I'm new here, found this site accidently searching for medication info. Pretty cool here, can't seem to open the chat though, may be due to being at work right now.
I'm in NJ at a very low-paying job and considering going to take a medical assistant course and make a complete switch. Does anyone have a clue what type of money I can expect to make leaving school? I've heard some great reports from friends whose relatives/friends do well and have fun jobs. I'd really appreciate some support/advice/info, and don't want to leave one low-paying job to pay for school to get into another low-paying field.

Welcome to Psycho babble.
I stumbled into this site some months ago and never left. I can't respond to your other questions because I don't have the answers but someone else might be able to help you.
Support is what I can offer and plenty of it.
ps (I love this place)

I'm glad you posted.
I don't know much about the field, or the job market where you live. Have you tried checking with your local Department of Labor? They might have local statistics on earnings and demand in various jobs. And I remember there used to be books with national statistics. Perhaps your local or university librarians might be able to help you out.
This is the end of the thread.
