Well, I'm not single, but I sure know about wild kiddos.

Is it possible she's just got a really bad case of cabin fever? Can you find something to do that gets you out of the house, but not around people?

Geocaching comes to mind. It costs a bit to get started, but almost nothing after that. Gets you out walking in places with not many people and kids love to go on 'treasure hunts' My UK friend and I have taken his kids out on hunts and they love it.

The idea is to use a gps to find a 'treasure' The coordinates are posted on http://www.geocaching.com (it's world wide) and you use the gps to find the cache (it's not as easy as it sounds) You are allowed to take something from it, if you leave something. The things are of the trinket level.

NOTE TO DR. BOB: I'm not pushing any products here....

Anyway, this is just one way to get out without facing crowds. You might come up with some others.

I was married when my daughter was 5, but it was a horrible marriage and i felt like a single mom. Anyway, I was blessed with a well behaved child, (which I am sure yours is too!)(But i know it can be stressful with a child around at times) Anyway, my daughter is almost 15 now, and I know that right now in my life I could not raise a child. I think God gave my daughter to me (at 17) because maybe he knew I wouldnt have the mental strengh for it now..I dont know. But I have re-married and have a 3yr old step son who lives 500 miles away, but we see him often. And though I love him to death, I get so freaked when he's around..I am nervous and scard at the thought of being responsible for such a little one...But, I just want to tell you that you are a good mum, and there is nothing wrong with being a little freaked right now. Maybe try to do things with her like color or read..it may calm her down and you too!!
Good Luck,
From: Another mom who's got social phobia :(
