I have just got home from meeting my first babbler in the flesh!!
This evening I met partly cloudy and her husband for dinner, here in London while they are ont heir travels!
WOW! I have had one of the most enjoyable evenings I have had in so long. I was kinda nervous.. but when pc walked up and said "Nikki?" and hugged me, I knew I had met a wonderful person!! I was put at my ease, and though the London weather tried to go against us, we have had such a nice evening together!
We ate Indian food with a lovely red wine, then went to a nearby pub for a beer.. I just adore her!! Both her and her hubby are such incredibly nice, interesting people.. and she's darn cute to boot!!!
I can't stop grinning!!! Its made J (my hubby) laugh as I've got this smile, and happy face on!!
partlycloudy - I wnat to thank you SO much for making my week!! If anyof you ever get a chance to meet her, then grab it with both hands, as she is someone very special!
*raises her glass to toast babble land and friendships*

That is so totally cool! And thanks for letting us know that PC is doing ok, considering that her home town was recently struck by a hurricane.
I could hear your smiling coming through your post. It's so wonderful to hear that you got along well. It's kind of scary, isn't it, thinking about meeting in person. I mean, what if you're completely opposite people IRL, and just share something online?
Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic experience.

Thanks for letting us know. It sounds like so much fun. Glad it went well and that PC got there safe and sound.
Take care,

Wow, Nikki! That is so fantastic! I bet PC will have a bunch of great things to say about you, too, as you both seem like very sweet people. :)
Glad you had a great time!

Nikki, I have printed your fantastic post and it will go in my scrapbook when I put it together for this trip. It should take around 5 years or so.
I only had one spectacular period of absolute hysteria whilst in the Potteries trying to find a Bed and Breakfast in the pouring rain, and my poor husband could not tell me which way to go, as he didn't know where we were. It was the first time, he said, when he aactually saw spittle fly out of my mouth.
I had to sit in the car while he took our bags up to a lovely and understanding B&B. Took me a couple of hours to recover.
That really was the only cloudy part of the trip. Driving was good, my husband became a quick and accurate navigator (I suppose he didn't want to relive that experience either), and we toodled around quite a bit.
Another highlight was seeing my mum's brother in Wales. He has such a gentle, caring soul. We caught up on family news and I was relieved to find that the cousins and aunts whom I steer away from strike him the same way. That was truly a comfort.
No damage to our home upon our return. The hurricane made landfall about 70 miles south of where we live on the coast, so we did not even get any of the residual wind and rain.
It was a trip to treasure. Nikki, I can't thank you enough. To meet you face to face helped my husband understand what life is like for people like us. Plus to meet someone whom you already e-know made the whole evening a true pleasure.
Here's to Babble Ambassadors!!
love,
partly cloudy with periods of sun.
