Reminds me way too much of Nixon and Hoover (J. Edgar, not the president)

Good God....
Where are we headed?
I share your distress.

Where are we headed?
This reminds me of the flushing questions above. Keep plenty of water around....
What worries me is that now, much later and for different reasons, I'm beginning to understand the survivalists that moved to Wyoming.
Can I get the unibombers old place?

Very disturbing. Makes me think of the peace-loving hippies shown in Farenheit (did I spell that right?) 911. Those relaxed, cookie-eating folks who were infiltrated and spied upon by the local authorities. Very disturbing.

It's an article about how the FBI is investigating (intimidating) anyone that just might protest at the republican convention. An Orwellian big brother kind of thing.
Nixon was a known paranoid (I hear Shrub is acting that way these days, too) and J. Edgar Hoover was in charge of the FBI. When he wasn't cross dressing he was compiling dossiers on anyone he thought just might be a possible problem. Thousands of them.
And now we have a "patriot act." What this boils down to is if you don't agree with me, you're not a patriot, so therefore you might be a traitor. We're only a hair away from detaining lots of folks on "suspicion"
And to think I used to laugh at conspiracy theorists.
This is the end of the thread.
