Anyone else find Dr Bob's pinkish pic disturbing? I feel bad enough about myself. Looks like he is mocking me or sneering at me. Telling me, hey weirdo, welcome to the funhouse.Just a thought

sorry you see it that way....:) (nm)

Here's a thought: Maybe you feel ashamed to have emotional problems, and feel that you are a "weirdo". You may believe that others think this about you as well. I think that most likely, you are projecting these insecurities onto the picture of Dr. Bob. Think about this, does your gut tell you this is what's going on? Maybe realizing it can give you insight into yourself, and the way you think others view you.

When I first discovered this site, I was really turned off by the picture also. It was a different picture then but similar in that the image was distorted. It's like when you take too close up a picture of a face and the camera distorts it. That did give me the creeps. It gave me the impression that this wasn't a very professional site. (I couldn't have been more wrong on that one!) I've always wondered why Dr. Bob didn't get a professional picture taken. I think it would be money well spent.

Since my first impression was that this was some kind of strange or cultish type of site, I didn't stay long after my search led me here. Eventually, months later, after my searches brought me back here again and again, I spent more time reading the posts and was then able to get past my initial impression of the site based on the picture.

I recently suggested this site to a friend and he told me that he was turned off by his first superficial viewing of it - though he didn't specifically mention the picture. To my knowledge, he hasn't returned here though I have told him a few times that he would find it helpful if he could get past his first impression.

This is the end of the thread.
