Judging (J) -- Proceeds towards goals in an organized way. Likes to make plans and come to decisions.
Perceiving (P) -- Adapts to life in a spontaneous way. Likes to gather information and keep options open.
"When using these terms, it's important to remember that they have a Myers-Briggs meaning distinct from their meaning in everyday usage. For example, Ps are no more perceptive than Js, while Js are not necessarily judgemental. Ts are not unfeeling, and Fs are not unthinking."amy :)

lar, i thought you might be an INTJ..do you have a really strong thinking preference? (just a hunch.) do you feel the INFJ profile suits you? try reading the INTJ one and see how that one grabs you..

lol. maybe so, wolf, maybe so. in pb land, you seem to be in the minority. :) i think i might share some ENFP tendencies with you, though..i think i tend to be an unusually friendly and enthusiastic INFJ. i'm interested in reading any future threads you'd like to contribute..:)

I forgot by the time I posted my results - having some "issues" with cognitive abilities, LOL! Hey, maybe tomorrow I'll take it again and it'll be different.
Great thread, lots of fun - thanks so much for getting it rolling!

i kinda doubt that, lar..<just kidding :)>
yes, i agree, it sounds like you probably are evenly split on the thinking/feeling preference. (In myers-briggs terms, that would make you an INXJ.) :) in that case, they suggest just what you said, to read both descriptions and find whichever parts of each description are pertinent to you. man, i love this stuff! :-)

I feel a little out of place here, an INFP/INTP depending on my mood. I can console myself with the introversion and intuition that I fully share with everyone else. The perceiving function tends to trail off...

hey, no problem, z. :) i still haven't figured out this concept of "attunement", though..it's something about the words, isn't it? i'm GOING to figure this out...:-)

glad you liked it. words wield a funny sort of power, don't they? :)
have a nice day tomorrow. :)

This test said ISTJ, with almost no difference between T & F.
The official one by the psychologist showed INTJ, with almost no difference between J & P. Actually she said the differences in everything but I were very low. Does that mean I'm well balanced? Except for introverted. I'm so introverted that I'm practically turned inside out.

i appreciate your taking the test and responding. :) yes, it does mean you are pretty well-balanced. this is a good thing. (although there is no real good or bad, just differences.) so we have another ISTJ..yay!! <applause> i'm surprised to hear that you're such an extreme introvert. you don't come across that way! and i wouldn't have guessed istj (or intj) either..interesting...very interesting...:-)amy :)

I can't see that I recognize myself in either of them. :) I'm not sure I recognize myself in any of them, but INTP comes closest. I'd actually like to take a sentence or two from all the I's. :)

well then maybe you really could be an IXXX! :-) (which, in translation, would be an I N/S T/F J/P to anyone who might be confused.) if that was the case you'd have to look up all the I's, like you mentioned, and then take the applicable parts from each I profile and compile them all into your own personal profile...:) that's pretty wild if you were split on 3 different traits..:) i'd work on becoming more extraverted just to further confuse things..:) i'd love to say, "i'm an XXXX", lol! ;)
