I can't imagine where the desire to compete in such a race comes from. I guess my competetive gene is switched off. They seemed like normal enough people, but were willing to swim 2.4 miles, then bicycle 112 miles, then run a 26 mile marathon, in one day.
My physical challenges come from doing curls with my grocery bags, and the coordination of making a multi course meal turn out on time.

You got me beat. A multicourse meal? :)
Although I've got the stoop and bend puppy cleaning up exercise. I should be ready for the stoop and bend olympics shortly.
I'm with you. I heard of someone who started running and ran their first marathon in less than half a year. I'm not sure impressed was the first word that came to mind. I think bemused was more like it.

Oh I'd love to do that, and its possible that I could even make it to the finish line by the end of *next* years race and look like I won. :)

Oh wait,
Does riding my bike the ten blocks to the beach and then jumping off my bike and running 25 yards to the beach and then paddling around count?Yoshimi
