Okay, first off,
I DO NOT INTEND TO OFfEND ANYONE HERE!!
Having said that, I am sure I probably will, but I don't mean to.
okay, the post......
Can anyone give me an understandable deffinition or what have you regarding Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?
I was recently informed by someone close to me that he had OCD. Some things now fit, but others don't.
Is there anyone who can help me out here? When I think of OCD, I am reminded of the movie with Helen Hunt and Jack Nicolson. Is that what it is like? Are there varying degrees? I am asking this because I have often thought I had some compulsion problems, but not what I had always thought about with what I thought was "typical" OCD like obsessive hand washing, etc. I don't know, he says he "counts things" like telephone poles, etc. But geeze, I do that too, and I don't think that makes me OCD. I am so curious now though because there are some deffinite abnormal behavior I observe about him, and I wonder if it really is OCD.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey AdaGrace,
Found this link, thought it might help. I belive like most disorders there are degrees, heard of a woman in Oz who vacuums everything including the dog and her boyfriend a zillion times a day.
