What would happen if i lost my mind?

Posted by RjLockhart98 on March 26, 2005, at 22:27:47

About 3 months i was on the verge of complete obolvion. I was in the middle of dissociation stage, my therpaist told me, mainly becuase i was didnt know what i was doing at my dad's firm, and he also loved to smuge me everytime i screwed up, i drove 50 miles one time to the wrong county went i showed up there i lost it! he called me why arent you back! dumbass! i hit 147mph in my black GT on the freeway to the right one, which was on the opposite side of dallas, "saying no no im on my way", then he said what that roaring sound in the back! oh nothing just busy at the court house..... bye!, i made it, i prayed to god i would not get a ticket for it, i didnt,... i made it, but i was absoluely warped after that. imagine that almost everyonther week. but it really got out of hand, i quit, told him to hire some kid from Chile. Havnet talked to him since.

I dont know, has anyone lost their mind before? Do you know hwat happens do you lose ASSosciations, i have dont that before, i take Zyprexa just incase i do go i bit coo coo, but i dont really know what my brain "looks" like, its may be fried.

MRI's, i am seeing my nuerologist at the end of March, i had an EEG, the lady slapped me everytime i moved! anyway, those readings dont mean anything with my sanity. We got to disscuss alot, i am trying to him scheduel me for PET scan, but he says those are rarely used. Bullsh*t! He said an MRI would be much better, i dont agree, but i dont know, maybe it would pick up abnormalites.

ANYWAYS, i dont know but i need to know.

Please tell me

Sometimes certain diagnoses are made by ruling things out. Rather than finding some evidence for what is wrong, you fail to find evidence, and rule out those things it isn't.

That can be what happens with any sort of mental disturbance, including what you are describing. It could have a physical cause (such as a tumour), so they pretty much have to poke around a bit (the MRI, EEG).

If they don't find anything obvious, they will try and treat you based on your symptoms.

The most important thing, IMHO, is to try and describe your symptoms clearly to your doctors. That's the only way you can get the best possible care.

I shared this on the psychobabble board, but a few months back, I was CERTAIN I was going crazy.

I just did not feel like myself anymore. Come to find out, the Lexapro had spun into this world of cycling/dysphoric mania.. there was a very chemical cause for what I was experiencing but in the middle of it, it didn't mean a hill of beans to me. All I KNEW was that I felt crazy and thought I'd never be sane again.

Then I went into the psych ward and found that there really are people who truly, clinically have "lost their minds" and gone insane. The thing I noticed about such people, is that they have NO CLUE they are "crazy."

So... that brought me some comfort. I figure as long as I was concerned about going crazy, I truly wasn't.. beucase once you " go there" you have no idea you've made it!
