The Great Smokie Mountians

Friends,
I will be in a cabin in the Great Smokie Mountians near Gatlinburg, TN. from Tuesday the 29th till Friday afternoon. If you happen to be near, we could meet if you like.

That sounds wonderful. Wish I could be there. I've seen parts of Tennessee from the air, and it looks green and lush and warm and beatiful.

If you are able, get to the back country there, it's way different from Gatlinburg. And beautiful this time of year. Mt. Leconte, Clingman's Dome (highest point in the east US) are a couple of places.

If you're into history, there's an area outside Gatlinburg called Cades Cove. Definately take the drive to Clingman's Dome. It's a nice scenic trip. There are a few waterfalls and points of interest along the way. I use to visit quite often. It's about a 3 hour drive from home. I am alone with my kids(my wife is in New York city) so I won't be making the trip. There are a lot of gems to see so enjoy nature and several good places to eat.
