uhh, is anyone else here having great difficulty logging onto this site today???? something is going on with this laptop..it is not an old computer like my other one. i keep trying to log on this site and having problems..anyone else..if so, bob, please take care of this problem..i would feel totally alone without this place right now. thank you. (i *hope* it's not my computer...my luck is the bloody pits!!!! *somebody* put me outta my misery for god's sakes)

sometimes when to many users are on this might be a hinderence, but you logged on once try again, in a awhile, good luck

thanks chili so much:)..you are so calm and soothing under pressure and have such a nice way about you! thank you so much for your response..i think everything'll be ok computer- wise..even though i have a very difficult time getting on any site. it's probably some stupid little computer glitch..i don't get the intuition that it's catastrophic..thanks again. god love you chili.

Somtimes I have trouble here opening posts or else they just take forever. Not sure why. Maybe there are too many people on as Chili suggested or maybe their's some maintenance being done on the board then. If you're not having much luck with other sites, could the problem be with your Internet service provider? I noticed that everything was really slow on my PC a little while back. Then I deleted a ton of e-mails and that did the trick.

Microsoft (if that's what you're using) writes horrid software. Temporary internet files that aren't temporary, and they clog up the swap file.
Pull down the Tools menu at the top of the page. Select Internet Options. On the General tab, click the button on the second panel from the top, Delete Files. It will open a small window, tick the box "delete all offline content", and be prepared to wait a while, if you've never done this maintenance before. I had 10 GB in garbage disappear the first time I did that. It took two hours. My computer was never happier, after that.
