Okay, honestly.
That someone might want to try and love me.
Got plenty of others too but really needed to admit that one.

My fears seem to change depending on mood...geez, it seems like everything about me is unstable!
I can sometimes be very afraid of:
1. IRL interactions with people, esp. small talk
2. Spiders and other bugs (except when I'm dissecting them or need to work with them in an experiment)
3. Failing things
4. Dying/losing control
5. Sometimes injuries and blood (makes me faint), oh ya and needles (sometimes)
Other times I'm not afraid at all...go figure!

Here's my list:
1) of suffocating. Yes, I have the fear that I will just suddenly stop breathing.
2) that one of my children will die.
3) that I will end up like either of my parent's- living a defeated, miserable, bitter life.4) that I will not accomplish all the things God has planned for me
5) that I will get really fat
6) that they will ban all chocolate in the US

But i forget a few more:

hey spriggy-i agree.....if i started to bcome like either of my parents i would need ALLL the choc. in the US + some :-) Darn-then i'd be fat and that's a fear i have also. i could always share the choc. w/ya...LOL (we would then have 2 go 2 WW 2gether j/k) seriously though- a lot of people that i love are overweight but i guess from self-esteem isues i don't feel i wld be loved if i were overweight-does that make sense???-take care carolina

Okay, well you better give us another one because I am one person who can testify to being very, very glad you exist. And to being incredibly proud, honoured and privileged to be your friend =0)

:-)
thanks.i don't know that i can express it correctly... because it isn't just 'everyone' who matters, it is more the opinion of people i care about. maybe that it is that i'll really really care about / need someone and they will just wish that i never existed. or maybe not even to that extent. indifference. maybe that would be enough.
don't mind me ;-)

which isn't to say that you are in the 'everyone' category... that wasn't what i meant at all. i just mean that i know that there are people who are glad that i'm here.
:-)
but that that isn't a counter-example to show me that my worst fear will never be realised.
thats why i changed it trying to capture it better...

That I really am inferior to most people. Intellectually, creatively, hello! I still have some self esteem issues to work on.

Being in the 'self esteem issues' club doesn't feel nearly so bad when you know that the other members are such lovely people.

It's always so nice to see you Sunny. Really hope someone has the good sense to stick with you real soon. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're missing something really special.

I'm not particularly clever, struggle to be humorous and rarely have much to offer in the way of wise counsel, sage advice or experience to offer. So I just try to return a little of what I've received so much of since I've been here, from so many wonderful people.

Thats exactly what we need a self esteem Board. So many of us have none. Should I post on Admin and ask Dr. Bob? Fondly, Phillipa

Yes, it seems to be at the bottom of a lot of issues for many of us, doesn't it?
Mine just seems so fragile, like I can't keep it sustained for very long...
