Tomorrow I have an important meeting in which I need to convince the director of my program to reverse an unfair decision against me. The details are complicated, but essentially she is discriminating against me because of my depression. Amazingly, the university has backed her up, even though I am pretty certain that I would have a good lawsuit against them if I tried. It is just so expensive to hire a lawyer. I'd really like to avoid it if possible.
The director is really a nasty *&%@ (insert your favorite word here). I really do need the positive thoughts. Sigh. Why are people so mean?

((((EE))))
It must be so difficult for you to have to stand up for yourself, especially when it involves depression.
You shouldn't have to deal with people treating you in an unfair way because of your depression.
You're a very brave person to stand up for yourself like that.

EE, That's against the law. Call an attorney a first time visit is free. The Disabilities progam or whatever it's called will back you up. Unless you jumped out of a university window or something else equally not good. But hugs and kisses to you and good luck! Fondly, Phillipa

Sending you postive thoughts...
Have you spoken to anyone who can act as an advocate for you? Is there any kind of student welfare agency in your university? Will anyone on the Faculty take your position?
I'm sorry the director is a *&%@. I think there's one in every workplace...
(((((EE)))))
Hope the meeting goes your way.

Sending positive thoughts your way... and Philipa's reminder about the legal aspect of your rights is very true! You can't be discriminated against because of your depression. I think I'd let my doctor know about the situation.
Take good care,

You have all the support you need from me.
I hope it goes well.
One small tip - since the guy is the director, everybody in the faculty will be afraid to go against him. So, don't brush too hard against him. Because it is your career.
Try to make it amicable settlement if at all possible. If needed, I would even give in a little if that would make it less painful for your career. (even though you have full rights on your end)

That was not a fun meeting. I'll fill you in later. I can't bear to write about it right now.

Since it is over and done with, try not to think too much about it if it makes you unhappy.
Maybe distract yourself for a while until you can face it again?
