I got into it because of good recommendations from Babblers a little while back. Now I'm watching the reruns and his ex-wife has come back to ask for House's help to save her current husband. What I want to know is why she left House to begin with. It seems like they still care a great deal for each other.

House is great! I just started watching it a few weeks ago, and I really like it. I can't usually stay interested in t.v. long enough to watch an hour long show, but I have been able to stay focussed on House.
Anyway, I am not sure why he and his ex split up, but I think it had to do with his whatever is wrong with his leg now. The re-run I saw the other night was flashbacking or something to when he was had some kind of infection or something in his leg and he was in the hospital (I missed what exactly happened to put him in hospital). Anyway, his ex is trying to convince him to have his leg amputated because he will likely die if it is not amputated. He keeps refusing. Since he is in so much pain, he is going to be put in a drug-induced coma to stop his suffering from the pain. His ex asks the doctor if, while he is in the drug-induced coma, she can use her medical proxy to make the decision to have his leg amputated. And, that was all I saw. So, I just assumed that she invoked her medical proxy, made a decision that he was against, and it destroyed their relationship. But, I don't really know.

I think you got it about right. Apparently he couldn't forgive her for going against his wishes and having his leg amputated. She was having to do something similiar with her current husband (I can't remember what the medical condition was). What a great show. That and 'Lost'. I love them!

Yes, I saw that show the other night. It was great. That's why I was wondering if her medical decision about his leg was responsible for ruining their relationship - even though she didn't opt for the amputation but just for the limited removal of some muscle instead. The other show where he had the date with Dr. Cameron was great too. His reponse to her at dinner about what he thought about her was brilliant writing.

I can't wait to see the resolution next week with House treating her new husband. I haven't watched "Lost" yet even though I loved Matthew Fox in "Party of Five". I've also gotten into "Veronica Mars" lately. It's geared towards young people but it's done so well that I've gotten addicted.k

I've heard Veronica Mars is excellent. I think it comes on at the same time as Lost though. I wish I had TiVo!
Lost is the best show I've seen in years. Its very intricate and involved. That's what I like about it. The last show I loved this much was Buffy. They're both the kind of shows that have something happen in season one that doesn't have any significance until season three or four or five. I love shows that make you think.
I can't wait for all the new sci-fi shows of the new season. There's about 4 or 5 of them!

Isn't that always the way - the couple of shows you want to watch are on at the same time? I don't have TiVo but when that happens I usually tape one and watch the other.I read recently that one of the science fiction shows is not going to be shown because it has a disaster occurring and the network executives thought it would be in bad taste to show it now. I don't remember which show that was though.

Oh yeah, I think that was Invasion. It had a hurricane in it. Too bad, it sounded good. I mean, I'm glad they canceled it if it was in bad taste, but too bad the timing was so off.

They didn't cancel it - just postponed it.(BTW, if you loved Buffy, you'll go crazy for Veronica Mars!)
