Wow! My dad has been sober now for 5 years. It was an answer to prayer.
I remember the day he was set free. We went to the Vietnam wall. I saw my dad fall to his knees and cry as he hovered over the names of the men who were in his platoon. (His whole platoon was killed a week after he left Vietnam)
Later that day, he went into a tent that housee a chaplain that was their during Vietnam. They prayed. (I stayed outside) I am not sure what happened in that tent, but when I trace back to the date of his sobriety, it falls on that day.

I grew up w/ alcoholics and this made so much sense to me...i'm very happy he's been sober for 5 years. prayer is a very strong force.
