Routines

Posted by Deneb on September 13, 2005, at 18:42:37

I'm going to try something I've never done before...sleep and wake up at the same time everyday.

My sleep/wake cycles are completely screwed up! I'm way too tired for my age! I found myself nodding off in my molecular biology class today and it's one of my favourite subjects! I've been way too unproductive these last couple of days since school started.

I'm going to try to get up at 7:20 every single day and go to bed at 11 or earlier if I need to. I think I need routine to help me study and not go insane.

Does this sound like a good idea? Wish me luck in doing this! I'm notoriously bad at keeping resolutions like his.

Deneb, That sounds like a good plan. They say getting up and going to bed at the same time each day is best. And even on weekends. Fondly, Phillipa

Good luck Deneb! I remember what it was like in college trying to get enough sleep. I think the routine thing would help you, and once your body gets use to it, it won't be hard to keep up at all.

Yes, this is a great idea. You may be surprised at how much better you feel.

I know when I'm on a schedule (like once my kids' start back to school), I feel like a different person (or it could be because my kids' are in school and I have alone time, ROFL).

Anyway, a routine has always made me feel more stability mentally. Someone just posted this over in health as well (for bipolar's to have routine).

Apparently, there was a study that was done that proved it does help with BP.

Good luck with it. May you get good rest and have the energy you need to study!
