> My closet friends that i grew up w/ that i still talk w/ moved away and never knew i suffered from depression, etc. as i hid it or avoided them. Last night i told my friend of 15 years that i have a *mental illness* and am on meds. for it and may be indefinately. She asked why i was ashamed to tell her sooner! and i didnt have an answer. I was ok admitting that i have an illness and it's NOT my fault! Big step for me, thanks to all of u!

That is such great news Wildcard, just such great news. It's a big step and I'm really proud of you. Did you get that lifting of a great weight sensation?
Hope it leads to new depths of closeness between you two.

That's so true. Everyone seems to be on something. Even the nurses I worked with were on AD's. It's nothing to be ashamed of. And times are changing. People are starting to realize that meds may be necessay. Especially when they all of a sudden need them too. Fondly, Phillipa
