I was just wondering...how many people here keep their problems a secret?
I do.
I don't tell my family anything about my problems (I don't have any friends to tell). They don't know about my destructive tendencies or my meds or my visits to the p-doc or anything like that. My parents know about the hospital thing though, for obvious reasons. They agree with me that I shouldn't have been locked up.
If I go to the Babble Party next year, I will lie to my parents and say that I'm going to Toronto with friends. My parents are suspicious of anything I do online. They think that someone will harm me here.

My parents dont like psychobabble becasue they think its "secular". We belive in Christ, but they dont understand and dont want to understand. I always turn my laptop the other direction, or minmize a babble window.
I would proably tell them i was going to visit Chigago University for the dinner party.
But lying makes guilt, and i hate it.
anyways, tell them its a support online with medications.
With regards,
Matt

I share everything with my husband and am pretty much an open book, in general but when I was dealing with my mental health the most (back last Winter), I didn't go into details.
When I missed church or functions, we just told people I was really "sick." Which I was.. I just didn't explain "what kind of sick."
BUT after I felt better, I did share my story to my church and at a Women's Retreat. I just feel better having it out in the open. AND I was amazed at how many women came up for prayer becuase they were struggling with the SAME thing but were too afraid to tell anyone.
Sometimes, it's freeing to share. BUT sometimes you have to be careful who you open up to. If they will use it against you or make your life more miserable, be careful.

I rarely tell anyone the *deep* issues that are too much. Not even my closest friend. I cannot even deal w/ those secrets let alone tell them.

I tell Greg everything and it's not always a good idea. It creates a lot of arguments between us. But I don't believe in secrets between people that are family. Fondly, Phillipa

I don't tell anyone anything, not even myself. I'm so confused. I'm serious. Actually now I have a T. I tell her some stuff. But so much stuff I don't know. I think I get crazier all the time sometimes.
