Dear Zen, I think it all started when I stumbed across this site:

I forget what random googling got me there.. Then there's a livejournal group called fakehair that has lots of links.
I kept wondering why everyone had lip piercings, plucked-out-then-drawn-back-on eyebrows, and goggles on their heads. According to Wikipedia this is the cyber subculture fashion. I've never seen this style in real-life, but then again I don't get out much. I've also learned that lip piercings lead to receded gums. Gotta love the internet!
Oh, and thanks for that link to the strange new products blog. I've added that one to my rotation.

oh dear! that lovely lady who does the hair wraps seems to have multiple lip piercings......wonder if she's read the news?
