Yes I receive what in the UK is called DLA (Disability Living Allowance). It consists of two subsections; a component for personal care, I receive the top rate (out of three options) because I (in thier words) "present a continual danger to myself or others". A component for mobility, I receive the lower rate (there are two options) because I (thier words again) "requires assistance on unfamiliar routes". DLA is not means tested so I can receive it whether I work or nor. Contrary to the experince of many I found getting DLA really easy my CPN asked if I was getting it, I said no, she said would I like to get it, I said yes. A few weeks later a lady arrives at my door to fill in the forms. A few months later I get an acceptance letter and a load of backdated money which went to pay for repairs to my roof!
>i have a diagnosis of psychotic depression where i constantly have bad thoughts.Im not sure of the disability money system in the USA.
