Cats pee in inappropriate places when they are under stress, such as when they are having problems with another cat in the house. They also do it when their litter boxes are too dirty (assuming the cat stays inside and has a litter box). Once they've peed somewhere, they might do it again if it still smells like pee.
Suggestion: wash all your stuff or spray it with something like PetZyme and keep your door closed.

yeah.
baking soda too.
that can neutralise the odour.
otherwise... they will keep doing that in the same place...
and their noses are more powerful than yours so even when you can't smell it anymroe they probably can
you might want to run some baking soda solution through with your clothes too...
(oh yeah, and don't leave them on the floor)

cat's usually pee on stuff because they're sick or theyre angry. have you brought in a new cat or something recently? you might want to get her to the vet to get her checked out. my parents have a cat that pees on everything when she has a urinary tract infection (whcih is often).
good luck! i HATE cat pee!

I agree. First and foremost you should rule out illness. But with the situation, it sounds like nerves and a territory thing. Just think how she must feel, thrown into this total alien environment, which another cat has already claimed as his own. What else could she do but try to claim an area for herself? She's got to go somewhere! And she probably pee's on your clothes because they smell like you. She's probably trying to claim you too. Aw-w, its because she likes you 'so much'!

Queen LaPee has taken over the house.
I swear im putting up baracades where i do not want sprayed. She always finds a way into my room when i leave it open. Im putting a screen door over my room door, so it shuts after i walk out.
I always have to spray this special odor remover, that makes the room not smell, but not have my room's smell.
Miss Queen is going if this keeps up.

We had a male cat who was neutered. But for whatever reason he cculd still spray urine. Every time we left for the weekend he would pee in and on windows, walls, even on the countertop on my husbands coffeemaker. He was definitely showing us how angry he was at being left. And if he wanted to go outside he would do the same thing if I wouldn't let him out. Fondly, Phillipa

Yes, clean litter boxes could be part of the solution, but there's more. When I had three cats, one would avoid the litter boxes. He was the outsider cat, and I got the sense that he was reacting to the other cats' scent in the box. When I got a fourth catbox, that stopped. Until the territory thing came up with my husband. (Don't ask.)
Since then, I've always kept one more litterbox than I have cats. So far, with the exception of a little problem one cat has which is too disgusting to mention here, it works. My two cats now have three litterboxes to choose from, and they seem happy about it.
As for the Queen, I'm guessing that she's an adult cat? Spayed? New to your household? Make her a space of her own, that she doesn't have to share with your existing cat. That should help.

Keep the door closed.
Get another cat box. Have two. Keep them immaculately clean.
This is the end of the thread.
