British friends- i guess Canadians too.. Aussies

Posted by llrrrpp on June 10, 2006, at 22:16:53

I found this on the bbc
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/5063672.stm

"The Trekinetic K2 dispenses with the old tubular chassis and uses a carbon fibre monocoque instead."

WTF is a "monocoque"?!?!?!?

Is it available in North America?

Are there alternative applications for the monocoque?

What does a lady have to do nowadays to get her very own monocoque?

Most sincerely yours,
EtOH+llrrrpp

I never saw this word before. I had to look it up.

mon·o·coque n. A metal structure, such as an aircraft, in which the skin absorbs all or most of the stresses to which the body is subjected.

auch Monocoque. zB: http://www.fahrradlexikon.de/html/suchergebnis.asp?suchbegriff=Monocoque+Carbon

oder vielleicht selbsttragend

I think if you had a monocoque you'd have to be selbsttragend...
