It's so hot here that the dogs have stopped barking (99 today). Guess they don't have the energy.
warm regards, Jake

I have my air turned down all the way and I'm still hot.

If I can get motivated I'm going to Barton Springs tomorrow and jump into that 68 degree water. A natural anti-depressant.

Wow.
Here in the UK right now its 'hot' at 26ºC/79F. I can't imagine what is like at 99F!!
Actually I was staying at my brother's in Milan, Italy when here in Europe we had a heatwave and it was 36ºC+ I guess thats about 99F. It didn't really bother me, I just drank lots of water. It was weird - you just perspired lots for no particular reason (obviously!) but apparently, according to my boyfriend who used to live in the US, its not so much the heat as the humidity in the US (and he lived in Boston!). Here at least its just a dry heat.
Kind regards
Meri

Lots of humidity in the South. Haven't been out yet. And we go from cold to hot no inbetween. Love Phillipa

I love the weather in the UK.
Where I live we have two seasons. "Summer" and "getting ready for summer"
But there's no shortage of air conditioning. I use a blanket and sweater at work to keep from freezing. I sure wish right now I had Deneb's scarf - the air is blowing right down my neck.
Yes, I'm at work. How sad is that.

And we all have the National Hurricane Center bookmarked on our browsers - at the top so we can find it quickly.

I remember one summer when I was a kid, being at Six Flags and it was 115°F. Once it gets in the high 90's, it all kind of feels the same to me though.
I'm jealous of that 68° water Jakeman! Although, that first dive in is a killer. At least, that's how it was when I went tubing. I don't think there was a single person that didn't hollar when they jumped in. I love that area of Texas. Its just so beautiful, laid back and peaceful. In fact, its what I visualized when my T was teaching me how to control my anxiety through breathing. Just tubing down the Guadalupe. What could be more relaxing.

TC,
I'm never been down the Guadalupe, I need to go. The San Marcos river is closer to me and I've tubed it many times. Very relaxing. You may have inspired me to go this weekend. It was 101 today. I need some relief.
warm regards, Jake
