Hi All,
I'm going away for a few days to Vancouver. I've never been to Canada before, which is funny, since I've been to 4 continents!Anyone have any suggestions for fun stuff to do? I'll be staying in downtown, and won't have a rental car. I can probably take a couple of afternoons off. Any local specialties I should eat (I'm going to eat a lot of salmon!) or restaurant recommendations?
Anyways, I haven't done much planning (or laundry!) for this trip-- I was just focused on getting my presentation prepared.
Thanks!

I spent a grand total of maybe a half hour in Vancouver (connecting flight), so I can only say one thing...
...when landing/taking off (I forget which it was, if not both), forget that Vancouver is, well, surrounded by water. Then look out the window. Just like I did.
That should make for an interesting minute or two. ;)
Good luck finding something (real) to interest you on this trip!

I lived in Vancouver for 12 years, and oh I miss it so much.
you can babblemail me if you want too. There's much diversity there, so it would be easier to know what you like before I can really think of anything to suggest
Have fun!

> Deneb*thanks Deneb* I'll try my hardest. I hardly know anyone who's going on the trip. yikes, that means I have to be social. Perhaps I'll just hang out in my hotel room and read a book or play on babble if there's easy internet access
:)

Hi
Years ago there used to be a small Chinese restaurant called, The Golden Restaurant. The food was DEEEEEElicious. It was a plain - kitchen diner-type restaurant but MAN was the food good.
There used to be a large 'natural foods supermarket' - can't remember the name for the life of me, but upstairs there was a vegetarian restaurant. YUUUUUUUUUUUM - I remember a chocolate tofu pie and OH BOY was IT good!!!
Can you tell I like food??
LOL - yeah - Auntie Mel's suggestion - check out my son!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you enjoy yourself!!

Vancourer is very beautiful. I lived near there for a couple of years. It's amazing because you have the ocean AND mountains.
