It's been raining and I love it.

Posted by Michael83 on August 28, 2006, at 23:09:06

The night time has been a bit scary lately (fears acting up again, but only slightly, nothing near panic level, nothing I can't handle), but the rainy days (I loooove the rain!) seemed to have overpowered those fears.

The overcast clouds feel like the blanket, and the shelter the clouds give from the sun's bright light blanket the city in soft light. Easy on the eyes. I don't like the sun glaring in my eyes, and sundown (my least favorite time of the day) is sort of "bypassed" because of the clouds. So no orange beams shooting into my eyes, blinding everyone.

Everything is wet. The air is clean. No dust. Temperatures down. Just wonderful.

I swear I must have burned an entire tank of gas driving around this weekend, just driving nowhere, but only because I like driving in the rain.

I lllllllove it lllllllooooove it lllllllllove it.

Why can't it rain more?

Sounds wonderful. There's way too much summer where I live. No rain since... can't remember.

Driving in the rain-- not my favorite thing on freeways, but I remember having an old car once that had windhield wipers that sounded like they were saying a phrase as they wiped. That was cool.

Yes it's been hot but I don't like the rain. It scares me? And then I can't bike. Love Phillipa

Michael, wow- you bring me back to a place. I can remember it exactly- the smell of waking up to a damp day- the smell of eucalyptus leaves moistened by the rain, and swept through the rain gutters. The sight of once dusty leaves glossy again...

If you are there, rest assured that the rains will be coming more frequently now, and then the snow at the higher altitudes, winking down bright and white on some bright day in November.

I love a good thunderstorm, but only when I'm inside safe and sound. :-)

It rained all day yesterday, it was sheer bliss. Its over now though. :-(

There is nothing I like better than a thunderstorm. I like to curl up in bed, turn off the lights, and watch the lightening. The louder it thunders the more safe and secure I feel.

I like the thunderstorms, but ONLY during the day.

Thunder at night, when my anxiety is acting up (I usually feel shakey once every other night) makes me feel uneasy. I'm usually easy frightened by things, even someone just walking up on me. So the thunder at night isn't always my thing.

In all, I prefer just the rain.

But the thunderstorms in the daytime! When they interrupt the regular broadcasting for the weather alert because of fear of tornado! Wow it's exciting the watch.

>>>>Its over now though. :-(

But it will always rain again! Just have to wait for it. =D

You don't like going outside, like sitting in the garage watching the storm?!? You're missing out! =D

Don't like big thunderstorms. I've been in too many tornado warnings. House got hit by trees, and cars smashed by hail 3 inches in diameter. Two times with a tornado close enough to hear. If there's a big storm happenning at night, I have to sleep in the closet with my sleeping bag and my cell phone handy.

but rain... that's a different matter altogether. Even a mild thunderstorm, where the sky turns all dark grey, and the wind starts kicking up some dust. now THAT's fun stuff.

We have so many tornado alerts that I usually ignore them. I've even heard the alarms sound a bunch of times too. However, once when I was working downtown, I was ignoring the alert as usual, when my friend came to my office and told me we really needed to leave. She had been looking at the dopplar radar on the internet so she knew it was bad. I was like, we have tornado alerts every other day! Finally she talked me into leaving and the tornados hit downtown 20 minutes later doing a ton of damage. It was so weird later looking at the skyline with all those windows broken out.

I guess that's my typical way of dealing with scary things, pretend they don't exist.

I still don't get too worried about an alert, I just continue on with what I'm doing, but now I at least pay attention.
Of course, if I were ever actually in one, I'm sure I'd be alot less nonchalant.

I much prefer living somewhere were it were bright and sunny (nearly) every day.

I live in the UK and 4 days out of 5 its usually raining, or grey, or overcast. :o(

Seriously. And the thing is, I don't mind a good downpour, like they have in the movies (it never drizzles, does it?) but here its just damp, slightly rainey and grey most of the time.

I'd love to live somewhere sunny in the US!!!

Kind regards

Meri
