I did some mail order therapy today. It felt soooooo good! I feel as though I'm purring right now.
What's that? Oh, just some yarn. But it's the most delicious Irish wool, and it comes in such knockout colors, and I am just so very, very excited to have it on its way! I was naughty, because I bought more than I needed, but not too naughty, because I bought little samples, rather than big skeins. The samples will help me decide what I'll be buying next from them, there's enough to knit some swatches of colorwork, showing the colors together.
But the bottom line is, for some reason this yarn sings to me so sweetly, and now I'm going to get new colors of it to play with! I'm so excited! It should be here Monday, if not before.
Of course, I will probably get to where I need it for my current project before then, so I'll have my impatient spins, but that's OK -- it's on it's WAY!

Okay it wasn't mail order, but I bought the *disappearing civil rights* coffee cup. When you pour something hot in it the U.S. Civil Rights disappear. I got it for the new job. I figured a law firm would get it. Hope they have my sense of humor.

I bet they're totally drool-worthy. MBP, even. :^D
I did something similar with seeds. I ordered way way too many flower and herb seeds. If they all grow, I'm going to have a jungle.
It feels good, though, doesn't it?

Definitely MBP -- the color card tells me that they're going to be too delicious for me to decide between them for my project... I think I'll ball them up, and then just stare and, pick them up one by one, and maybe even hug them to my chest.
Of course, I can only knit four more rows before I get to where I need one of the {cough} {choke} EIGHT colors I ordered... (Priority Mail, so it should show up Monday, I think...)

Think of those English Follies? Little domestic jungles? OOOOOHHH! We could get you an urn with a broken neck to put in there! Or a fountain, with a little cherub that you could plant a jungle around! OOOOHHHH!
OK, so maybe that's not quite your vision...

> ggWell, kinda...
You know me, though: I worry that the fact that I needed one color, and ordered eight, is a sign of Something Bad -- was I being manic? Impulsive? Something Worse? (You know how I was doing yesterday, so you know nothing is going to feel completely right, yes?) But, I am at least speaking back to that inner voice, telling it that I've loved this yarn for years, that I've planned to buy more in February when they come out here again, the one ounce hanks are cheap enough that it's not outrageously expensive, it's not like I'm buying eight of the four ounce skeins, etc.
Oh, well. Whether they're a sign of Dire Things or not, they are drop dead gorgeous colors. I can hardly wait. In fact, I am torn on knitting the next four rows -- I'm afraid of how hard it will be to wait for the new stuff to show up!
(By the way, I'm writing you for advice on which color to choose out of the eight, with the colors I've already got going...)
This is the end of the thread.
