Shrinkage

Posted by Jo U.K on February 14, 2007, at 3:27:17

All this weight loss, and what's the first thing to disappear?
Yeah, right, it's my chest! There wasnt much there to start with, but I was quite fond of it!
My husband actually said ' Uh Oh - we have shrinkage'. He seems to find it his job to do boob loss checks at frequent intervals! Neanderthal man is alive and well in rural England.
Now if only my rear end and hips would shrink at the same rate......

Supposedly the boobs go first, thighs and stomach last. Not fair. Love Phillipa

Boob shrinkage is a pain! I wish it would go from my hips! Well they say pear shapes are healthier - well blah. Hey, this is slightly random but it just occurred to me - you don't happen to shop at Next do you? I was just wondering if their clothes are better fitted for 'pear shapes'. I've never really bothered with them, but I'm in Finland now, and there aren't too many shops where I am, so I was looking to online ordering, and someone mentioned Next. I haven't given it much thought, because I seem to remember the clothes didn't fit me that well, but perhaps that was a long time ago!

So I mean, you know how some shops are good for certain 'shapes' like I can't wear clothes that tend to be more 'up and down'. I need the space for my hips and bum and the waist to be narrower!

I hope I'm making sense!

Kind regards

Meri (formerly UK, now Finland!)

I actually know a lot of females that use "shrinkage" as their number one reason for not wanting to lose weight. Heck, I say shrink away! You can always buy bras to enhance your figure but you can't buy jeans that magically de-enhance your probelm areas. :-)

Ain't it the truth? :( (nm) » Jo U.K

Jo,

>>>My husband actually said ' Uh Oh - we have shrinkage'. He seems to find it his job to do boob loss checks at frequent intervals! Neanderthal man is alive and well in rural England.<<<

***OMG, My hubby has a twin. If we were in the same country I might think we were married to the same guy. LOL!

And why is it that we lose our cleavage first. Totally unfair! :( But I like what wildflower said that we can always buy bras to enhance the top, not as easy to find jeans that minimize the bottom.

Such is life, I guess.

Regards,
happykat :)

Thanks M, I do often shop at Next, I even find that I'm sometimes a size smaller in there - great for the ego! There on-line ordering is great, vey fast, and you can check on line to see if the item is in stock.
So what do you do for clothes shopping in Finland?
I dont shop like I used to when I lived in town. In fact, today I'm going to Bluewater shopping centre on the Kent/Essex border which I'm really looking forward to.
Kind regards
Jo

Hmm. Bluewater eh? I've never been (being a Northern girl myself) but hey. Yeah, I've largely ignored Next to be honest, simply because I'm 5'10 and when I've gone in, there always seem to be vast swathes of petite clothes and they consider 'extra-long' to be 33"!!! Well I need at least 34" and I don't think I'm freakishly tall or anything.

I might go in next (haha!) time I'm back in the UK to see what their sizing is up to. I recently ordered a skirt from Boden (umm really nice, but sadly slightly expensive!) and the measurements were definately slightly larger than what it stated in their catalogue. I got my measuring tape out and everything!! So perhaps I shouldn't be so worried about the sizing in next!!

I'm also slightly obsessed with online ordering, as you may have noticed!

Kind regards

Meri

I find next stuff comes up short (I'm short, so next is good most of the time, but their petite stuff is even too short for me!) Their jeans seem to fit me pretty well, I'm more of an apple shape since Remeron - all stomach and boobs! I'm loosing weight my chest hasn't started to decrease yet - it's a bit of a pain really, considering nearly all my bras are a 34D and I'm now a 36DD, it'd be quite nice if they shrunk just a little bit!
