Thank you Honore, I was a typical pony mad kid, and begged constantly for a pony of my own. My Mum and Dad are Londoners and totally non-horsey, but eventually my Mum got me my first pony when I was 12. He was rough as old boots, semi wild but I LOVED that horse. I had a break from them when that pony died. Then I couldnt afford a horse till I was 24 and my Mum (again!) got Rosie for me. So I've had her for 11 years.
Are you in to horses Honore?

Glad you liked the pictures, blushing terrible from compliments, thank you girls.

Yes that Roman road is included in our property - it runs the length of our Eastern boundary. It used to be a proper village road leading to a hamlet called Skulls Gate (!) but the parish closed it in 1859 to save costs, and it was absorbed in to our place many years ago. I have a couple of neighbours who walk their dogs down there as it leads also to an ancient woodland called Parsonage Woods which is run as a Nature Reserve by Kent WIldlife Trust.

In total we have 15 acres. I totally recommend a move to the country if you can Kath. Mind you, unless you have horses it's probably a lot less work to have a large garden that backs on to farmland that you can enjoy the view of without having the maintenance work!

As someone who's read lots of fiction about Roman times in Britain, your place simply fascinates me Jo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15 acres if a nice amount. Hubby & I are looking VERY much forward to moving to the country.

Although, right now, seeing my son still have SO VERY FAR to go in getting better, I sort of feel edgy at the thought of living far from him.

Oh well. I can't go too far forward in my thoughts these days.

hugs, Kath

I probably havnt done this correctly, but above is a couple of sites relating to where I live, they say a bit about the history of the area. I love history and archaeology.

I understand about moving away from your son, you need to be near him at the moment, I would be the same. How's he doing?

Referring to the above post, if you go on the Benenden Village web pade (that's the village that I live in) and click on Benenden Landscape there is a rather lengthy but interesting script about the history of the area. It opens in a new window.
