I got a manicure at a nail salon today for the first time in my life. I didn't use my free manicure coupon yet. I wanted to get a French manicure with gel nails. I'll get my free manicure at the spa when it gets warmer out and when my nails start looking crappy.
I felt like splurging because now I have a job and can afford to splurge once in a while. My gel nails were $45. I gave a $5 tip. Is that too little? The stuff the lady put on my nails stung and I bled a little when she filed my cuticles. Is that normal? Is it normal to bleed during a manicure? I thought she was a little rough.
My nails look OK. They are a little longer than what I'm used to. I'm not going to make trips to the nail salon a regular occurrence. A bit of beauty is not worth bleeding for. I don't know if the instruments were properly sterilized. I could get some sort of fungal infection or Hepatitis or something. I hope my spa manicure and pedicure will be better.

Yeah. I wanted to treat myself after getting a job. I felt like splurging on something I've never done before. Now I have pretty nails for work, not that it matters lol.

$5 is a GREAT tip, in my opinion!!
Bleeding seems a bit rough to me, although I've only had manicures & pedicures done by my daughter & she is SO gentle with MOM. :')
I don't remember if you said what job you have, or if you feel like it. I'm looking forward to hearing how your training went.
