Does anyone here know if you can use *metal* bakeware to make cookies, cakes, etc., in a microwave/confection thing?
You can't really call it a microwave or a confection oven, but it looks just like a microwave.
thank you, 5f

Not sure what kind of stove you mean, but I thought that metal in a microwave was a HUGE no-no.

I had to laugh -- I know you mean convection oven, but seeing confection oven made me laugh...
Convection ovens move air around to bake more quickly and evenly. Microwaves use radiation. They're different technologies, so there are different rules. For microwaves, there are certain sorts of metals that are OK, but only in certain situations, and since we don't know exactly what those are, it's much safer to say "NO METALS!"
Convection ovens are fine with metal.
So, it depends on what sort of appliance this really is...

Well it looks exactly like a microwave, but upon looking closer it shows options for using as a convection (haha) oven as well.
It's in the condo moving to which is small. They removed the stove, added a half-size dishwasher, two burners on far left of countertop, but no oven.
It's supposed to be an IKE* kitchen. I'll google; maybe askdotcom or Yahoo answers.
I spent some of my Dad's inheritance $ to purchase some nice metal cookware, cake rounds, muffin pan, bread pan, and more, and, well, $ gone now.
Hope it doesn't require those floppy rubbery ones. Hope there is a way to use the cookware I've already purchased.
Yep, I like to bake.
tks all, 5f
