I read it can cure anxiety and depression.
But when I opened up the bottle, WOW, man it stunk. I bought the chewable ones that they give to children. They taste pretty bad, but I don't like pills, I'm afraid I'll choke on them.
Lets see if this works!

Those aren't supposed to taste like fish flavored Tic Tacs. At least I hope not. They are probably rancid.

Is it really? I know it's a good brain food.. but unless it's tested clinically, I wouldn't trust it completely.

I don't know about the anxiety and depression. I take it for cholesterol. It states on the bottle Omega 3 fish oil contains EPA and DHA, two fatty acids that help support and maintain your cardiovascular system. Omega-3 fatty acids are considered one of the "good" fats important for cellular, heart and metabolic health, and help maintain triglyceride levels already within a normal range. It is frequently reccommended for this. My PCP is the one that suggested I take it and it does work. I buy it in a gel capsule. I bought a bottle of 250(1000mg) for about $20.00. It is to be taken 3xday. A lot of times major pharmacies with their own brands will put their vitamins on sale buy one, get one free. That's when I stock up. If you have a Wal-Mart in the area, their prices are usually quite reasonable. I've known about the use of fish oil for cholesterol for quite a few years. This is the first I've heard about it for anxiety and depression. I've managed to get my cholesterol under control that I haven't been taking the fish oil but if what you say is true, I'll start taking it again because I am taking ADs and anti-anxiety meds and wouldn't have been looking for any kind of effect on that from the fish oil. Could you tell me your source? I'd like to research this a little bit more. Hope this info helps you. HUGS

Don't know about anxiety, but I take it to hopefully help guard against depressive episodes, [depression in remission for many months now-thank God] and also for the CV benefits you mentioned (my PCP is a big advocate). I always do the Walgreen's BOGOF thing, too, which makes the price a LOT less painful.

I wonder if the oil is capable of making an antidepressant stay in the sytem longer and not get washed out as with water. Just another thought. Phillipa
