I'm researching job interviews right now. I'm going to anticipate questions and prepare answers ahead of time.
My interview is on Weds. I should practice.
Does anyone have an tips for me?

Deneb heard this on the radio research how they dress okay to dress a notch up. Nothing sexy , low cut. Know and ask questions about the company, carry a notebook or briefcase take notes. I'm sure you will do very well. Good luck Phillipa

Best of luck Deneb,
I'd say breathe deeply (not in a way they'd notice) - it will help you keep calm.
I'd say that if they ask you a question, you can take a breath, & think about what you're going to say. (Unless it's a really simple question). I don't see anything wrong with a person thinking before they answer.
Dress nicely, as mentioned before.
Eye contact is important & a smile, when appropriate.
Don't fidget (not sure of spelling & don't mean to insult you! I suspect you wouldn't fidget anyhow.)
If you have a question for them, ask it.
hope it goes well Deneb. love, Kath
PS - I think that the feeling of pressure can be lifted somewhat by viewing an interview as a 'practice session' - any interview is practice for any future interviews you have in your life.

Hi Deneb,
Here are a few questions you might want to ask them.
Describe your ideal candidate. Then you can say I have experience in ______, I'm a good _____, etc.
How many people are you interviewing?
Will you be doing second interviews?
When will you be making your final decision?
Be sure to tell them at the end of the interview that you want the job.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I followed most of them. I dressed in a skirt and suit, I asked questions and I told them I wanted the position again at the end. I took a propranolol before the interview so I didn't have sweaty hands when shaking hands.
I think I did as well as can be expected from someone who is socially awkward. I'm sure they could tell I was not a very outgoing talkative person.
I also gave the two people who interviewed me thank you cards afterwards. I hope that helps. I've done everything I can do to try to get this position. Now I have to wait. I'll know possibily next week whether or not I got it.

Even if you don't get it Deneb, you've scored a victory by going through the whole process of applying; having the interview etc.
That is a great achievement. I wish you luck.

I think they liked me. One of them said they really liked my answers in the interview. They saw I was shy, but I got better towards the end of the interview and they think I will come through for this job.
I think I'm the first they told. They told me they haven't decided who the others will be and I need to be quiet about the news for now.

Oh Deneb - I am SO happy for you!!!
I hope you enjoy this job. And I hope you're proud of yourself.
Makes me think of a commercial some years ago. It was a cigarette commercial - so it's sort of awful if ya think about it in that way, but it showed a young woman smoking a long cigarette & the saying was something like:
Baby - you've come a LONG way!!! So congratulations Deneb!!
luv, Kath
