I got my computer in Dec. 2005 and apparently I bought a protection plan for it. I'd forgotten about it. I'm covered until sometime 2009.
So I called Dell and we've found out there is something wrong with the hard drive.
I was just on the phone for a long time so I'm going to rest a bit and call them back again.

Hi Deneb,
I work w/ computers and if its a hard drive issue and u have warranty then probably Dell will dispatch a technician to fix it onsite or you'll have to take it to a Dell authorized repair center. Sorry but there's a possiblity your data on the hard drive may be irrecoverable if the hard drive is really broke. Ask if they can recover your data. Sometimes that's a service they may not want to do.
Hope ur PC gets fixed soon since this post is a few days old.
