Why have fires in places where houses are close?

Posted by Kath on July 12, 2008, at 21:21:20

It's been hot & muggy & raining & now the air is filled with awful-smelling smoke.

Why the he** do people burn fires in their backyards when the smoke wafts into other people's windows????????????????

What the he**. Do they think they're on a farm with lots of acreage?

ALSO - has anyone heard of pollution? How about Greenhouse gas effect? I am SO sick of having to close all my windows in the summer. To say nothing of not daring to have stuff out on a clothesline unless I'm out there with it to bring it in if someone decides to have a campfire!

I get SO upset about this. It's a different kind of second hand smoke.

Some states here have burn laws. My husband likes fires but not allowed here. I don't like them either. Love Phillipa
