ok, down to it ,my age stopped at 30 i still have surfer beads or string of leather round my neck,cool not tacky tee shirts an not levi jeans there are better an cheaper ones now like in the big stores over here like NEXT.beat up short leather jackets .every one knows me for it . my hair as never gone grey , thin yes grey no, an music as you no i love anything from springsteen to hard house dance.an i think i no why.about thirty my illness took over , where i lived on my nerves now they lived on me.so i kinda took on being lost for months an when i drifted back it was as if i hadnt moved, still 30, in then out like you guys all our life but i come back to being 30 , hey i dont mind i could be comming back at 70 whoaaaaaa.you see up to thirty i thought my illness was normal an just rocked got hammered all the time, women , fighting the hole lot but 10 time as much,so even though my brain distroys me on a very regular basis it lets me comeback an be 30, even with aches an pains an a few creases.the bastard depression monster, workes in weird ways,does anyone feel in any way simular because we are robbed of so many year,s i dont ask any more the people who are around me,my friends how have the missing years effected you. so

Manic believe me I understand and you're also a very handsome man with a lovely family. In our minds I guess we can be any age we want to try and phsically be that person is where I fall down. Love Phillipa

That's actually a good way to think of it! I find myself feeling more like I lost a bunch of years being too depressed to really live, and now I'm just old. I like your way better, I get to start over!

Now I know you're not 76 years old! Ha, ha!
As for the depression, I've been battling it since my early teens. I didn't really get a handle on it until my 30's, but I still have to fight it sometimes. I've had anxiety for years too, but it seems to have increased as I've gotten older.
As for the missing years, I do feel like I missed out on a normal life during my teens and 20's. I'm the only one I know my age with no significant other or kids, or even many friends for that matter. I've just kind of... drifted through life. At least, that's how it feels. But I know I can't dwell on it, I have to move on. Life will move on whether I want it to or not, so I might as well make the best of it. So that's what I try to do. But that doesn't mean I don't have regrets.

Hi Manic,
I am starting to feel a bit older - I guess I have a bit less physical energy & that's why.
Partly I still definitely feel in my 30's - maybe 38 or so. I'm 61.
And THEN - I look in the mirror & get a reality kick-in-the-pants! Oh well.

Also, when the same old things are causing stress in my life, I'm WAY more prone to thinking 'okay - that's it - I've had enough; not interested any more'. I guess getting TIRED of difficult stuff.
