Svjatoslav Teofilovic Richter
It's a wonderful name, isn't it?
I have a CD of him doing the Bach preludes and fugues and it is my favourite of all the versions I have heard.
Thanks.

I think it was Horowitz who said that the only Russian pianist he liked was Richter. I personally think the prelude 4 opus 28 was nothing short of perfection. My 12 yr old daughter is almost finished learning it---I'm going to beg her to teach me.

Great music is relative. Bits and pieces of my old self resurface from time to time---it's unpredictable. I do so love this piece though--it calms the savage beast. I like to think I'm a connoisseur of many things---but the reality is-- I'm just an ordinary fan.
