Bipolar is often misdiagnosed

Posted by Deneb on August 14, 2009, at 5:09:59

Some conditions misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder on Yahoo! Health http://bit.ly/bbabf

What do people think of this? What struck me was how many are misdiagnosed,57%. A lot seem to have borderline personality.

I think borderline personality has a lot of stigma to it and that is why doctors prefer to diagnose bipolar.

Deneb isn't there a lot of difference between bipolar and borderline? One is an Axis I and the personality disorder Axis II or at least that's the way it used to be. Love Phillipa

Good one, deneb. We're still in the dark ages in mental health.

I'm afraid to swallow the next pill.
