What do you mean Phillipa? I meant no ill will at any time. It was an honest to goodness stupid mistake and I would hope anyone who knows me would assume I meant the complete opposite of what I wrote.

Are you saying that if I hadn't fixed it people would have assumed I wanted TexasChic to NOT get the jobs??

People who know me would know it was a mistake for sure.

It makes me feel kind of bad to think people would think the worse of me.

Is that what you mean Phillipa?

It was very clear what you meant Deneb. I dont think anyone would ever question that coming from you

Absolutely, I think Phillipa was just clarifying.

First off, Deneb, it was obvious what you meant even if your wording was slightly off. You just confused the term 'comes through' with 'falls through'. And I don't think Phillipa meant you seriously screwed up, I think she was actually trying to make you feel better by saying, no big deal, you fixed it. If you've used the term in the past, I'm sure the context made it apparent what you were implying. So don't worry about it, okay?

Secondly, thanks you guys! I appreciate all the support and well wishes. Although I'm still worried, I feel better about things today. Sometimes I freak out about something and the anxiety just builds and builds, and it helps to get it all out here on babble. And everyone is always so supportive, it just helps me get a grip on that runaway anxiety. So thanks for being there pb friends!

Thanks you guys! I ended up not getting a new suit. I went to Goodwill and could only find short sleeve suits, and with it being so warm outside I realized it was silly to think I couldn't wear the short sleeved suit I already have. And even if it gets cold again, I'll be wearing a coat when I'm outside. I will have to replace it soon though, its getting kind of ratty from wearing it so much!

I talked to my Mom, and although she has little money, she is going to contribute some to my nephew's xmas fund, and I figured out I can spend a little and still pay my rent and electric bill with what I have coming in from my part time job. So if the UE doesn't come through for a while, I'll be able to cover the two most important bills. Other than that, I'm just going to try not to worry about it.

I'm getting myself psyched up for the interview now and going over potential questions. I really hope I get this one! Its not my dream job or anything, but it sure would improve my current situation, and could lead to something better. Wish me luck!

T seriously good luck. It got hot there again thought it was freezing. The weather there changes faster than here. Just be you and look like you. Now how could they not hire you? Cudos to you Mom too. What a relief that must be.

I think a lot of us are dealing with financial insecurity right now, myself included. It's really tough out there. I hope your UE application goes through without a hitch. (Maybe you can call them today too.)

Good luck with your interviews! They both sound like good opportunities.

The interview went really well! For once I was able to rattle off the answers to those silly typical interview questions and actually sound like an intelligent human being! (I think I can attribute that to the Ritalin). I really don't have the experience needed for the management part of the job, which the manager did comment on, but he said he's considering me anyway. He also said my skill set would definitely be an asset to the company, and he thought he could find a place for me even if he doesn't choose me for this particular position. I told him about the other interview on Wed, and he said he used to work for that manager. He said he would talk to him after my interview and get his opinion on the matter. I think I might actually get a job out of this situation! It may not be 'exactly' what I want to do, but sometimes you have to change your expectations if you want to get out of a rut. Did that make sense? Ugh, I'm tired now. Thanks everyone for the support! I'll keep you updated!

I talked to UE and it turns out I did fill everything out right, but it could take 4-6 weeks to process the new claim! Sheesh! I mean, they'll give me back pay if it comes through, but what about the next month and a half? I'm just going to have to scrounge and try to make it through. I'm not going to worry about it anymore though. Whatever happens, happen.

It was freezing! It even snowed! But yesterday and today I've had to turn on the air conditioner. That's Texas for you!

This mgr said he would recommend me for the management position (1st interview), but if that mgr chooses someone else, he would give me a job in his store. Its a lower position, but it sounds like I could work myself up pretty quickly. Either way, I'm happy!

I spoke to the mgr from the 1st interview...

...he decided to go with an internal applicant for the management position. But he said the other manager was going to call me with an offer for a position in his store. He said if for some reason he didn't, to call him & he will personally find me a position in the company. He said he and the other mgr were both very impressed with me and really want me to come work for their company, and that I would be sure to move up quickly. I thanked him for all his compliments and told him I was glad to hear they promoted from within, and he said I made it an extremely difficult choice for him. I mean, he was really going on and on! I guess all my practice going to interviews is finally paying off!

So it looks like I might have finally found myself a full time job! Its not exactly my ideal, but since I can't seem to find that, or even anything close these days, I'm glad to find an acceptable alternative.

Well, hopefully I haven't jinxed it all by saying all that! I haven't got the job yet - but its looking good!
