Greetings,
I plan on visiting many of the subjects being discussed in many forums. I am hoping to gain some insight of many members of "Psycho-Babble" and am hopeful this subject thread of "Monikers and Reasons" may provide community members additional info about ourselves by finding why people select the titles they use at this site.
I'd like to start by explaining why I selected my title.
I selected "Pabo", as it's a corruption of a word meaning 'stupid' in another language. I would have rather used a word that meant 'uninformed', but I couldn't find a simple English translation & the word meaning 'uninformed' is an adjective rather than a noun.Though this seems unimportant, I wanted to share why I chose "Pabo". My hope is that with others sharing their reasons in choosing self selected titles/monikers, additional info will be provided to all, about many.
My goal is to try to find my way around, and become less uninformed. Now I want to go read others' 'threads and replies' in those threads.

I got nicknamed peanut because I used to burrow down in a down comforter which I took to calling my shell. When I was depressed and spent more and more time in my shell, my friend Sarah wrote on my board "Mindy is a very inanimate peanut" and it just stuck.

I chose Sigismund because it reminded me of medieval Poland which was as far away from here and now as I could think of.

obsidian - A usually black or banded, hard volcanic glass that displays shiny, curved surfaces when fractured and is formed by rapid cooling of lava
and from lyrics of "Lithium Sunset" by Sting
(even though I'm not bipolar)Fill my eyes
O Lithium sunset
And take this lonesome burden
Of worry from my mind
Take this heartache
Of obsidian darkness
And fold my darkness
Into your yellow lightI've been scattered I've been shattered
I've been knocked out of the race
But I'll get better
I feel your light upon my faceHeal my soul
O Lithium sunset
And I'll ride the turning world
Into another night
Into another night
Into another night
See mercury falling...
