I remember that in the 50's when a child. The 60's were the Beetles to me and dating than marriage and two children. But the stores were closed on Sunday when did they start staying open on Sundays? Phillipa

We were just telling my (incredulous) son about stores closing on Sunday! And how frustrating it was, because Sunday was a big day for puttering around the house.
Perhaps the Blue Laws were lifted on a state by state basis?
I remember spending the night with several other friends at a house where they had cable. I stayed up all night watching nothing in particular, just because something was actually on!
Sigh. I remember you had to pretty much like whatever was on, because there was no choice. When I was very young, I lived with my grandma. Only one station came through the mountains with any real clarity and a minimum of static. My favorite show was Gigantor. I look at Gigantor today and find that hard to believe. But it was there, I guess.

Gigantor! I haven't thought of that show for a long time. I can hear the opening song in my head right now.
Does anyone remember Tom Terrific?
And with all the glitz of today's news shows, I recall Walter Cronkite with nostalgia, though as a child I would writhe with impatience.

On the plane to London people would stand up the back in an open area and drink beer, smoke cigarettes and talk to each other and there was no security. 1970 something.
