Family

My husband's family visited us and stayed the weekend.Usually,it stresses me out.I decided to enjoy them, enjoy myself, and accept them, not judge them.I have to say it was great having us all together. It's the first time I relaxed, and let things be as they are.I miss them now, house is very quiet all day.

That's good, judgment can be a real downer. These days I'd rather be happy than "right".

I would like to avoid the week in Florida with all grown kids extended family at thanksgiving. As have to bring our dogs, watch Daughters while she goes upstate for three days to run in a marathon and leaves us to visit Youngest and Granddaughter who she has already said is always sick. Too much stress, too much driving, too many people. I like my routines as boring as they are. Phillipa

Last year we left the country to avoid the (extended) family at Christmas.

Somehow the kids know to do something else.

Being right is such a pain. It makes me despair about human contact. Now that I feel better about not answering the phone I can stare into space for hours on end. I remain unsure as to whether this is depression or brain damage.

I'm guessing I must have brain damage as other Grandmothers all they do is talk about how wonderful their Grandkids are. I don't feel that way. I'm damaged PJ
