OK, who wants to cry for 2.5 hours? LOL

OMG, I just saw Les Misérables. It's like one of the most freaking sad movies ever lol, as if the name Les Misérables wasn't a clue. lol.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great movie and I liked it a lot, but it's like a cry fest in there. LOL. Hearing people sniffling and blowing their noses. LOL

It's up there with Schindler's List in terms of movies that induce uncontrollable crying for hours. LOL.

Some parts were kind of weird, especially when every conversation was in a sing song type voice, but when they actually broke into song it was great.

Anyways, every part in the movie induces tears, the good and sad parts.

Anyone else see it? How did you like it?

Everyone in the theatre was old lol. I guess I'm one of the old people now at age 31. lol.

Well, if you need a good cry, go see Les Misérables.

Or if you'd rather not cry you could listen to Prairie Home Companion's take on Les Mis last weekend. I couldn't stop laughing. Listen to the audio instead of just reading it.

It may be a very good movie. I liked the musical version I saw on TV a lot. But I don't handle long movies well no matter how good.

I thought it was a tad too melodramatic. All the sadness felt manipulative to me. Also, the New Yorker review said something really funny. They were writing about how Valjean and the gendarme (can't remember his name -- the Russell Crowe character) kept bumping into one another. They said you'd think the entire population of France was only 27 people.

Oh yeah lol. I think that's what they were aiming for. I agree that the plot holes are enormous gaping holes and nothing makes much sense lol.

I think of it as just pure drama, sort of like how those Shakespearean plays aren't supposed to be realistic.

Also everyone in France had British accents and spoke English, while singing every single conversation lol.
