OK. So, I pissed one of my ex-shrinks off. Medical board complaints, lawyers--rough times. People in my small, southern town don't care for me, anyway. Word was I was "schizophrenic."
Now, the shrinks from back in the day can't control me. True story. So, I'm no longer "schizophrenic." Which makes me wonder...
...is it time to crack open my Szasz again?

it worries me that they would rather say 'misdiagnosis' than 'cured' in order to retain their 'you don't recover from schizophrenia'. it worries me because whether you say / treat people like they will recover or not has a significant impact on their recovery. their self conception. the course of their life, really.
still... in these days when commerce students count as models of psychopaths perhaps one shouldn't be too bothered...

it's all how you present yourself to them for them to make opinions and diagnosis, then choice of medication
