Death is the ultimite chill pill.

The Prodigal Son. I break all ten commandments and years later I'm wasting away with cancer. I get Baptized days before I die. I say I'm a believer. I go to heaven. That's just wrong.

I find some comfort in thinking that i will "rest in peace" and that it will be peaceful.
I think i am prepared to die an atheists death.
Will there be anything left of our consciousness after we die? Where will it be and how does it feel to be dead? Does it have any feel at all?

I could imagine that there is some part of us, i would call it "life force" might be eternal. So maybe there will be some consciousness left. Maybe not.

Thats my current state of belief.

My father is of old age. I think i am more concerned than he is although i am 50 years younger. He is prepared to go into nothingness and to just cease to exist. I think its pretty brave.
Its always easier to believe that you will never die than to think that you will be gone forever.

What i definitely dont believe in is eternal punishment or eternal heaven. How could you be punished eternally for bad deeds that you did temporarily?
If we think of god as gracious, we cant believe in that.
