Went for a short vacation

Posted by Clearskies on September 22, 2016, at 19:34:00

Very different and hard to unwind without a commanding spouse. It will take a few visits to relax me. They were the source of a lot of anxiety and depression.

I visited the Oregon coast with a good friend. It was just stunning. I want to explore my surroundings more.

It's funny, isn't it, how different things are when you are some place new / off auto-pilot. I'm always amazed at how many cognitive resources need to go into the simplest navigation task etc when I go off the beaten path.

I never read animal farm. I think because I was never prescribed it in school - but I was aware that many people were and there was a bunch of social commentary code that I wouldn't get because I don't know anything about the governments etc that the book was talking about.

I started "Gulliver's Travel's" recently... But gave up. Same reason... Social commentary that was lost on me.

Just started "Frankenstein"

I loved that book.

George Orwell's dystopian writings fascinate me.
